About Amanda

Amanda Rinaldi is a Connecticut-based mixed media artist whose work explores authenticity, self-trust, and the quiet courage it takes to return home to oneself.

Born in the bustling vibrant city of Montreal, surrounded by the colorful urban scenery and eclectic melting pot of the area, Amanda always found herself drawn to the fun markings and imaginative play behind a blank piece of paper.

This love for art continued to blossom and grow through her childhood and early adulthood, where she gained recognition for her artistic merits, receiving a Minor in Digital Art, and later becoming a Paint Nite instructor and eventually quitting her rigorous engineering job to become a full-time professional artist.

Through expressive mark-making, bold color, and layered materials, her paintings invite viewers to turn toward their inner light — even, and especially, when life feels messy or uncertain.

Amanda’s work often features women and symbolic elements such as crowns, doors, and affirmations. These motifs reflect her belief that intuition is a spiritual compass and that growth comes not from perfection, but from honest self-connection. Her practice is deeply intuitive; she allows each piece to unfold through feeling rather than expectation, reclaiming power from people-pleasing and external validation, one brushstroke at a time.

Working in acrylic, oil, and mixed media on canvas and paper, Amanda creates both large-scale statement pieces and intimate works, including inventing interactive “hidden door” art pieces that invite the viewer to reveal a warm affirmation. Each artwork functions as a tangible reminder of inner worth, resilience, and self-acceptance.

Her mission is simple but profound: to create art that helps people remember how wildly worthy, capable, and luminous they already are.

Amanda currently works in her home studio in a quiet coastal town of southeastern CT, taking in the wonderful changing of the seasons (particularly the fall!), being a mother for her two young children, and creating art to bring more hope and optimism in a world that desperately needs it. You’ll also find some of her work at The Lyme Art Gallery Association.

“My art is an invitation — to slow down, listen inward, and return home to the self. Working intuitively in mixed media, acrylic, collage, and oil paint, I allow each piece to evolve through emotion and instinct rather perfection. I'm drawn to expressive figures and symbolic objects that speak to worth, resilience, and the courage to live authentically, oftentimes featuring a small affirmation located inside the painting. These elements reflect my belief that our intuition is a guiding force, quietly urging us toward our inner light, even when the path feels messy or uncertain. Through both large-scale and intimate works, I aim to create art that reminds one of their inner strength, of their right to belong, and of their inner beauty in self-actualization.”
